Dime 65

Found – On a NYC sidewalk
I had no plans on going into the city today. However, when I woke up, I had this very strong feeling that I should go. Since I didn’t have any firm plans or things I definitely needed to do today, I thought “Well, why not? I’ll go.”
I got ready really fast since the weather was supposed to turn cold and rainy in the afternoon and I wanted to try to avoid that. As I was getting dressed, I figured I would park in my old neighborhood on the Upper West side and bring my camera with me so I could take some photos while I was walking down to Times Square. I figured I would go to the Virgin Megastore’s going out of business sale. I used to shop there all the time when I lived and worked in Manhattan. For several years, my office was just a few buildings down the block from it, on 46th Street. Then I figured I would walk back uptown, maybe make a few stop-offs along the way, and then have a late lunch and head home.
I drove into the city without hitting any traffic and scored a perfect parking spot along Central Park West near 65th Street. The weather was a bit colder than I thought it would be so the 20 block (1 mile) walk down to Times Square was a bit brutal. Especially since I didn’t have a scarf, gloves, or earmuffs with me.
As I was walking down Broadway, noticing all of the many changes that have occurred since the last time I had taken that walk (all of the stores that had gone out of business or were different businesses), and approaching 57th Street, I just happened to look down and found this dime in my path.
