    Dead Man In An Envelope

    November 8, 2007

I was working out on my treadmill this morning.  I had finished 2 miles and was sitting on my bed, drinking water, and listening to the radio.  They were playing a game called Dead Man In An Envelope where they have an envelope with the name of a deceased famous man in it and the listeners have to call in and guess the name.  The contestants calling in get to ask one question before they make their guess.  I had just turned the radio on so I hadn’t heard any of the previous questions other than he was not known as a Broadway Star.  Out of nowhere, something in my head said “George Peppard” and I had a vision of the older George Peppard with white hair.  It seemed to be a totally random thing the way it just popped into my head out of nowhere.  I listened to the rest of the game as I was rummaging around my closet trying to figure out what I was going to wear today.  They gave out a few more clues – breakfast, he was married when he died, he had several marriages, etc.  And then a woman called in and guessed George Peppard.  She was right!  She won!  I stood there in disbelief thinking “wow, that was weird.  how the hell did i know that?”
