I just came home from a very strange day. I knew I would be out shopping and running errands most of the afternoon, so when I got in my car and I was driving out of my neighborhood, I asked out loud for a validation. I said if someone is watching over me, if someone is trying to communicate with me, please send me a dime today. Give me a validation if you are hearing this. Let me know I am not crazy. Send me a dime today.
However, instead of a dime, I was sent 10 pennies. It was like a trail of pennies all day and all night.
I saw the first penny in a parking lot and didn’t bother to pick it up. I had my hands full of bags of groceries and didn’t want to put them down just to pick up a penny.
I picked up the second penny in the parking lot of Barnes & Noble. I had just parked my car and was walking to the front door and it was right in front of me. I came home later and put it in a coin counting bank that I just got for Christmas.
I went into the city tonight to take some pictures of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. I walked past the third penny on a crowded sidewalk which I didn’t pick up because it was just too crowded to stop and bend down.
I picked up the fourth and fifth pennies on much less crowded sidewalks as I was walking from Rockefeller Center to Times Square.
I went to the Virgin Megastore in Times Square where I saw the sixth and seventh pennies but didn’t pick them up because again it was too crowded to stop and bend down to get them.
I picked up the eighth penny as I was walking from Times Square back to Rockefeller Center.
They shut the tree lights off at 11:38pm just as I had made it back to see it again. I walked off to the side of it where I found The Penny Harvest Field which is about the size of a city block entirely covered with about 100 million pennies. I’ve never seen so many pennies in one place in my life! I found the ninth penny there on the sidewalk, a few feet away from the display. I threw it into the display because I figured that’s where it should be.
I walked back to where my car was parked on 55th Street and right there on the pavement only a foot or so away from my car was the tenth penny.
I’ve never seen nor found so many pennies in one day. I hardly ever find pennies. If I find coins, they are usually dimes. While I am disappointed that I did not get my validation of being sent a dime, I am intrigued by the ten pennies. After all, ten pennies does equal one dime. Could it be that there is more than one entity watching over me or trying to communicate with me? Maybe instead of sending me one dime, they decided to split it up an each send a penny. Who knows? It was just very weird.
